Mission of the SASS Museum and Cowboy Action Shooting Hall of Fame is to preserve the historic significance of Cowboy Action Shooting and the cultural aspects of the Single Action Shooting Society for the enrichment of the SASS membership, Western lifestyles public and Cowboy Action Shooting industry.

  • headquarters for the National Skeet Shooting Association
  • headquarters for theNational Sporting Clays Association
  • hosts the World Skeet Championships
  • hosts the National Sporting Clays Championship
  • NSSA – NSCA Museum & Hall of Fame

  • November 1961 permanent NSSA library Museum and Hall of Fame created
  • 1969 an estimated 10 cubic feet of material had been collected
  • 1973 NSSA moved from Dallas to San Antonio on the grounds of the Texas International Gun Club
  • 1989 a dedicated facility was required for museum
  • 2002 Construction was started on present building

Trapshooting Hall of Fame

founded in 1968

  • 1900 to 1923 the Grand American Trapshooting Tournament was held at various places throughout the United States
  • 1924 permanent clubhouse constructed in Vandalia, Ohio
  • 1968 Hall of Fame (HOF) founded
  • 2006 moved to World Shooting & Recreational Complex in Sparta, Illinois
  • HOF offers five $5,000 scholarships each year
